In 2019 we asked the local Halfmoon Bay School's students to tell us about the year 2050 and what the island is like now we have a Predator Free Rakiura.
It is the year 2050, my name is Ryan and I am 39 years old.
I manage the Stewart Island mountain bike park. I am very busy organising the downhill mountain biking championships.
It is amazing when you look out at the end of the track. You can hear hundreds of native animals calling happily.
I have to check the foam fence and turn on the drying fans. After than I will have to call Moby at biosecurity. He will check all the bikes and the gear for rats, mice, seeds and bad diseases.
It is amazing when you look out at the end of the track. You can hear hundreds of native animals calling happily.
It is a beautiful day on Stewart Island.
