I grew up in Invercargill and left to study at the University of Otago. I completed a PhD in Microbiology in 2012. For the past 11 years I was a Scientist at Plant & Food Research in Lincoln.

I worked on a range of pests and pathogens that cause diseases in Aotearoa. Many of these pests and diseases are a biosecurity concern in Aotearoa and in other countries.

Through this work I came to appreciate the incredible environment here and the amazing work that goes into protecting it throughout the biosecurity system.

After 20 years away from Murihiku I am looking forward to rediscovering this beautiful region and to progressing the vision of Predator Free Rakiura.
