Predator Free Rakiura is an ambitious and courageous project led by Mana Whenua and the community to ensure our community and nature thrive together. Our aim is to remove targeted predators from Rakiura and create a natural haven for our taonga and our community, forever. 

A predator removal project of this size and complexity has never been achieved before. That means the work is challenging and complex, but worth it! 

Executive Assistant - Predator Free Rakiura Project Team

We are looking for an experienced Executive Assistant to perform a variety of administrative tasks and support the project team. This role is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the New Zealand environmental landscape. Interested candidates will be passionate about the predator free vision and identify with the project’s values of collaboration, inclusivity, and innovation. 

Responsibilities:

This critical role will contribute to the efficiency of the Predator Free Rakiura Project by providing effective administration support to the Project Director and the Predator Free Rakiura team:

• Manage the interface between the Project Directors office and customers ensuring that all queries are answered in a friendly, professional and timely manner
• Working collaboratively with the team to develop and enhance team performance 
• Prepare and provide quality assurance on reports and any other documentation produced by the team ensuring that they are professional and error free
• Coordinating scheduling and preparing for meetings, including gathering documents and organising logistics 
• Drafting, reviewing, and sending communications on behalf of the project team 
• Preparing and maintaining various project reports, records and documents 
• The safe management of group activities and to support and enable the Project Director and Council as a PCBU to fulfil their duties under the law

What you need to succeed:  

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a professional environment 
• A high level of professionalism and ability to project organisational credibility
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent time management with the ability to work well autonomously 
• A keen eye for continuous improvement and innovative solutions 
• A proactive customer centric approach and a flexible positive can-do attitude
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite, desktop publishing, PowerPoint presentations, electronic diary management and email
